Trauma‑Informed Therapy in Milton Keynes & Online in the UK

Difficult experiences can stay with us long after they’ve passed. You might notice memories resurfacing, feeling on edge, shutting down, or struggling to trust yourself or others. Trauma‑informed therapy offers a calm, steady space where you can explore what you’re carrying at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

You don’t need to share anything before you’re ready. The focus is on helping you feel grounded, supported and more in control of your life.

What Trauma‑Informed Therapy Means

Trauma‑informed therapy recognises that overwhelming experiences can affect your emotions, body, relationships and sense of self. It’s not about reliving the past — it’s about understanding how those experiences may be showing up in your life now.

A trauma‑informed approach includes:

  • Working at a pace that feels safe
  • Prioritising your sense of choice and control
  • Helping you understand your responses without judgement
  • Supporting you to feel grounded in your body
  • Building emotional safety and stability
  • Exploring deeper experiences only when you feel ready

The aim is to help you feel more connected, more empowered and more able to move forward.

How Trauma Can Show Up

Trauma affects everyone differently. You might notice:

  • Feeling on edge, alert or easily startled
  • Difficulty relaxing or sleeping
  • Feeling disconnected, numb or “shut down”
  • Strong emotional reactions
  • Avoiding certain places, people or situations
  • Trouble trusting yourself or others
  • Feeling overwhelmed by memories or sensations
  • A sense of being stuck or “not yourself”

Whatever you’re experiencing, you don’t have to face it alone.

How Therapy Can Help

In our sessions, we gently explore what’s happening for you: emotionally, mentally and physically. We focus on building safety and stability first, so you feel supported before looking at anything deeper.

Therapy can help you:

  • Understand your responses and triggers
  • Build grounding skills to feel more steady
  • Strengthen your sense of safety and control
  • Explore past experiences at your own pace
  • Reconnect with your body and emotions
  • Develop healthier patterns and boundaries
  • Move toward a life that feels more open and less restricted

This work is collaborative: you lead the pace, and I support you throughout.

You Don’t Need a Diagnosis

You don’t need a formal diagnosis or a clear memory of what happened. Many people come to trauma‑informed therapy simply because something feels “off”, overwhelming or difficult to manage. Your experience is valid, whatever it looks like.

In‑Person or Online Sessions

 You can choose to meet:

  • In person in Milton Keynes, in a quiet, private space
  • Online across the UK, if you prefer the comfort and safety of home

Both options offer the same level of warmth, steadiness and confidentiality.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Trauma‑informed work is highly individual. Some people come for short‑term support, while others prefer longer‑term therapy to explore things more deeply. We review regularly so the pace feels right for you.

Take the First Step

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure how to move forward, you don’t have to navigate it alone. A free 15‑minute consultation can help you get a sense of whether trauma‑informed therapy feels right.
