Trauma counselling in Central Milton Keynes, trauma-informed and carefully paced, with online sessions across the UK for clients in Bedford, Northampton and beyond. Whether it's PTSD from something acute and recent, complex trauma from something older that's quietly shaped your life, or you're just not sure what to call it, we work at the speed your nervous system can handle. Nothing rushed. Nothing forced.
It often shows up as something else, anxiety, insomnia, relationship patterns, a sense of never quite being safe. Some clients arrive with a PTSD diagnosis. Others don't use the word "trauma" at all, they just know something isn't right.
Trauma work has three phases. We don’t skip ahead.
This approach works for single-incident trauma (a car accident, an assault, a bereavement) and for complex or relational trauma built up over time in childhood or in relationships.
A quiet conversation to talk through what's brought you here and whether this feels like the right kind of help. You don't need to share details on the call — just enough to know if you'd like to try a session.
The first sessions aren't about the difficult material. They're about making sure you feel settled, understood, and in control of how we work. That foundation is the work.
Usually weekly, 50-minute sessions. No fixed timeline — trauma work takes the time it takes. You set the pace at every stage, including when to stop.
Individual sessions are £55 for 50 minutes. The initial 15-minute consultation is free. Payment is by bank transfer before each session.
If things feel urgent
Counselling is a gradual process — it isn't crisis support. If you're feeling overwhelmed, unsafe, or in acute distress right now, please reach out to one of these:
If you're in immediate danger, please call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.
No. Healing from trauma doesn't require detailed retelling. You share only what you choose to, when you're ready. Many clients work through trauma without ever giving me the full "story", and that's completely valid.
A really common feeling. Trauma isn't about the event, it's about how your system responded to it. If something has shaped you in lasting ways, it's worth bringing in. No one gets gatekept here.
Done badly, yes. Done well, no. We move slowly. If something feels too much, we slow down, ground, and take care of the system. You're never being "pushed through" anything.
Primarily a conversation. There are no structured exercises or pressure to relive events in detail. We talk, I listen carefully, and we explore things at your pace. As trust builds and if it's useful, we might use grounding techniques or work with how trauma shows up in the body, but always gently and always with your agreement.
That uncertainty is very common. Trauma isn't defined by the event, it's defined by its lasting impact on your nervous system and your life. If something has shaped how you move through the world in ways that feel limiting or painful, that's enough of a reason to explore it. You don't need a diagnosis or a label to begin.
